with an emphasis on grammar
Czech course for beginners
During the course we learn Czech virtually from zero and gradually work on pronunciation, conjugation of verbs, declination of nouns and adjectives, we discover typical expressions and so on.
The course is primarily aimed at development of communicative skills. We certainly take into account that the majority of the students have already been living in the Czech Republic for a certain time and have basic knowledge about the language. However our goal is to extend and consolidate this basic knowledge.
From the outset we pay special attention to correct pronunciation. Not only because deep-rooted incorrect pronunciation is hard to change afterwards, but also because correct pronunciation makes Czech much more pronounceable than it seems at first glance. I will give you a couple of tips regarding the accent and long vowels, and you’ll stop suffering so much with pronunciation.
As for grammar, we’ll gradually get to know all forms of endings, but we’ll do it by learning one case and number at a time. Also, we’ll first study only the declination of nouns, to which we’ll then incrementally add pronouns and adjectives. We’ll use the same ‘isolating’ approach when learning the conjugation of Czech verbs. We’ll be practising each type of declination and conjugation using special mini dialogues, as well as by having natural conversations about events from our own life and things around us.
As a result of participation in the course you can expect:
- better and more confident pronunciation;
- better orientation in Czech cases;
- correct use of verbs in different tenses and persons;
- overcoming the fear of speaking Czech;
- your questions and doubts regarding the Czech language answered and cleared up;
- a great experience of the engaging atmosphere in the group.
The study costs CZK 250 per hour (60 minutes). Normally each group has two two-hour lessons per week.
The course begins once the group is full. For enrolment please contact me with on WhatsApp +420608902640 or by email vladimir.gorosko@volny.cz.
